Filing Probate in Gila County
To start a probate case in Gila County, bring your documents to the Globe courthouse before 4:30 PM. You need the original will if one exists, completed forms, and the filing fee. Staff will review your filing for completeness.
Arizona requires probate to begin within two years of death. Smaller estates may avoid full probate using an affidavit. Personal property under $200,000 qualifies 30 days after death. Real property under $300,000 qualifies six months after death. The personal property affidavit is presented directly to asset holders. The real property affidavit is filed with the court.
Non-licensed fiduciaries must complete training before serving. This includes family members appointed as personal representative, guardian, or conservator. Complete the online training and file the declaration with your case.
